The Globalisation of Higher Education: Insights and Challenges of Teaching Using English as Medium of Instruction
国際化する高等教育：「教授言語としての英語（EMI）」使用の展望と課題
Internationalisation remains an important aspect of the strategic agenda for leading universities around the world. In addition to the recruitment of international talent and production of high quality research, recent initiatives to increase the number and quality of courses using English as a medium of instruction (EMI) have become a key factor in the globalisation of higher education. During this exclusive event, leading practitioners from Europe and Asia will share their experiences and insights on the development of EMI programs and examine some of the challenges of implementing EMI in non-English speaking countries. (Simultaneous interpretation will be available.)
世界の主要大学にとって、国際化は戦略的な重要課題です。大学は国際的人材の登用や質の高い研究活動を求められています。また、「教授言語としての英語（EMI）」を使用した授業の増加とその質の向上において主導的役割を担うことが、高等教育機関のグローバル化の指標となっています。本シンポジウムでは、アジアやヨーロッパでEMIを実践している教授を招待し、自身の経験を踏まえた考察や、非英語圏でEMIを導入するにあたって生じる課題について紹介します。
