Discussion and Presentation is twice weekly 100 minute class for first-year students. The class is designed to train students in discussion and presentation and to improve their overall skills in organising language for specific purposes.
We aim to teach the practical side of making presentations, focusing on the spoken language, the body language, use of visual aids, and some of the more powerful and flexible rhetorical techniques of presentation.
Naturally, because our department is an English Literature department, the topics for discussion and presentation are based in English language literature and culture.
